Aviate 1.3.0

In short

✈️ Aviate 1.3.0

Aviate 1.3.0 brings Samsung Wallet support for Pro, more control over Live Updates, and a batch of fixes for the things you actually use on a travel day.

  • Samsung Wallet for Pro: add scanned boarding passes on supported Android devices. Flight details refresh while Pro is active; saved cards stay in your wallet if Pro expires, with updates paused.
  • Live Updates on your schedule: choose 2, 3, 4, or 6 hours before departure in Preferences. Two hours remains the default. Open Aviate during that window to start tracking.
  • Your trips, your call: turn off trip suggestions or dissolve a trip while keeping its flights. Unfolded foldables and tablets get separately scrolling map and flight panes, and connections and long stays display more consistently.
  • Crew and parking codes: choose Crew for a manually added flight, and keep a parking reservation-code image available offline across the trip's outbound and return legs.
  • Boarding passes and history: wider barcode support, family-pass reordering, and large CSV history imports are now available for ALL users!
  • A smoother travel day: better next-flight widgets, gate details, search, Android stability, and recovery when a Pro purchase is interrupted. Submitted reports open in full, even after they are closed.

Aviate 1.2

In short

✈️ Aviate 1.2

Aviate 1.2 is now rolling out. This release is about keeping your travel organized when you change phones, dig through years of history, or lose your connection at exactly the wrong time.

Trips that follow your account

  • Custom Trip names and flight groupings now save to your Aviate account instead of living on one device
  • Existing device-only Trips migrate automatically
  • Build a Trip from older flights already in Flight History
  • View previously loaded Trips, boarding-pass details, and Passport offline. Accounts with Flight History access can reopen saved History too; server changes still wait for a connection

Flight Labels, in Labs

  • Profile → Labs now shows experiments available for your Aviate version and lets you vote on those features
  • Flight Labels are beginning their rollout through Labs for Aviate Pro members and eligible grandfathered accounts
  • Create private labels for your own flights, filter Trips and Flight History, and decide whether each label belongs in your main Passport, a separate Passport, or neither
  • Material You connection colors are also available to try through Labs

More control over your travel record

  • Set the airport shown as Issued At in Passport, or let Aviate choose automatically from your completed travel
  • Import the standard OpenFlights CSV export
  • Correct the passenger's name displayed in Aviate without changing the original boarding-pass barcode, then reset it whenever you want
  • Copy a confirmation number with one tap

For accounts with Flight Notifications access, Android Live Flight Updates now follow one current personal flight at a time, with more consistent progress across Aviate, its notification, and Wear OS. Large histories load in pages, narrow-screen actions and widgets adapt better, and calendar sync avoids duplicates.

Aviate 1.1.0

In short

✈️ Aviate 1.1.0

The biggest changes are related to when a trip does not go to plan. (oh, and the Wear OS app finally got accepted)

Missed-flight recovery

  • Mark a flight as missed without deleting it, or undo it later
  • Keep the original flight in your history while Aviate removes it from Passport totals, alerts, widgets, public profiles, Wrapped, and future calendar sync
  • Look for a later flight on the same route and airline brand through the following morning, including relevant codeshares
  • Add one or more replacement legs without rebuilding the rest of your trip

Airline Connect

  • Airline Connect is included for Aviate Pro users on 1.1.0, it is no longer locked behind testing
  • Delta connections support your SkyMiles profile, balance, status, and eligible trip imports
  • Delta is the only enabled airline in this version. Flying Blue and United Airlines are Coming soon while we prepare some finishing touches

History and Passport

  • Import CSV history from 2Flights, while byAir imports now preserve more route, schedule, booking, seat, and cabin details
  • Pro imports can now include your complete flight history instead of stopping at 2022
  • Preview your Passport share card before saving it to the gallery or sharing it
  • See frequently flown routes stand out more clearly on the Passport map

International arrival dates, layovers, per-flight labels, 12 or 24-hour notifications, large histories, maps, and airline data should all behave more reliably too.

This is a big update, if you find any bugs, especially for missed-flight edge cases and Delta connections, please send it in.

The flight companion Android deserves is now here!

In short

✈️ Aviate 1.0 is here

The flight companion Android deserves is now available on Google Play. That sentence took a year and a half to write...

What started as a boarding-pass scanner in January 2025 has grown into the Android flight companion I wanted to use myself, shaped by our community of +1,000 testers, +10,000 flights tracked, and over 400 bug reports & feature requests.

The essentials are free, there are no ads, and Aviate Pro is optional.

A new release deserves a new home too: we also just acquired aviate.app.

Release Note

Aviate 1.0.0 Prelease 7

In short

✈️ Aviate 1.0.0 Pre-Release 7

This pre-release is for Android. It is mostly about giving you a clear choice before Aviate turns something on or shares anything outside the app.

New controls

  • Report a public profile, account, member, or group, and optionally block the account when reporting a person
  • Review and unblock accounts from Public Profile settings
  • Manage push notifications, optional crash reports, indoor-map location, and the Wear OS companion separately
  • Choose live updates for each flight and stop tracking directly from the notification

Privacy and security

  • Push notifications and crash reports now stay off until you choose to enable them
  • Blocking is respected in signed-in profile and community views, group invitations, community notifications, and direct flight sharing
  • Sign-in tokens are moved into Android's secure Keystore and are no longer copied to Wear OS
  • Airline Connect, parking, ride pickup, indoor maps, and diagnostic logs now explain what is shared before you continue
  • Account deletion cleans up more connected data, including community records and report attachments

Smaller improvements

  • Parking no longer captures your location automatically
  • Live tracking no longer silently restarts after a reboot
  • The Jet Lag Advisor no longer recommends medication or presents an estimated adjustment time as a promise
  • Screen scanning gives clearer explanations and errors, and gallery saves work correctly on Android 8 and 9

Before updating

Account-linked push alerts and Wear OS syncing start turned off in Pre-Release 7. Re-enable either one you use from Preferences → Data & Notification Controls after updating.

Aviate 1.0.0 Prelease 6

In short

✈️ Aviate 1.0.0 Pre-Release 6

Pre-Release 6 is probably one of our biggest releases

New features

  • Gate predictions for Aviate Pro when we don't have an official gate yet
  • Import up to 25 boarding-pass screenshots at once on Android
  • Keep aircraft, registration, seat, and cabin class from supported CSV imports
  • Fill in missing aircraft or tail details on flights you own
  • Search more than 8,250 airports by IATA, ICAO, name, city, or region
  • In-flight trivia is now available to every signed-in traveler

Improvements and bug fixes

  • Live tracking is matched against the exact date and route more carefully
  • Home, widgets, and notifications move on from completed flights properly
  • Check-in reminders no longer arrive too early for some travelers
  • The turbulence card no longer calls a flight "Smooth" when we don't have enough data
  • Missing seat data no longer appears as undefined

Removed

Expense tracking and trip budgets have been removed. Updating also removes their locally stored records and receipt images. If you still have an older build with anything important in Expenses, save it before updating.
