Version 1.0 got Aviate onto Google Play. Version 1.1 starts with the part of travel a clean itinerary does not show: sometimes you miss the flight, sometimes the data is incomplete, and sometimes your history came from somewhere else.

We also have Aviate Wear 0.0.4 finally coming out to the public, after 3 denials from Google's team. We are currently working on both Aviate 1.2.0 and Aviate Wear 0.0.5 to fix existing issues with Wear OS.

Missed a flight? Keep it

Until now, removing a flight was the easiest way to stop Aviate from treating it as part of your trip. That also meant removing it from your history, which is not what happened.

1.1 adds a proper Mark flight as missed action to Trips, boarding passes, and Flight History. The flight turns grayscale, gets a clear MISSED label, and stays in your history. If it was marked by mistake, you can mark it as taken again.

A missed flight no longer counts as a flight you took. Aviate leaves it out of Passport statistics and maps, notifications, widgets, public profiles, Wrapped, and future calendar sync. It also stops live tracking it and moves on to the next eligible flight.

Find another way there

Marking the flight is only half of the problem. You still need to get where you were going.

Aviate can now look for later flights on the same route and from the same airline brand through the following morning. Aviate also checks relevant codeshares and regional operators.

When Aviate has a suitable result, you can replace the missed leg with one later flight. You can also build a multi-leg replacement when a direct option is not enough. Aviate keeps the original missed flight in your history and carries the trip around it forward, including its name, folders, documents, checklists, parking, and calendar links.

This is a recovery tool, not a booking engine. The results are not meant to be an exhaustive list of every flight an airline might offer, so confirm the option with the airline before relying on it.

Delta Airline Connect, in beta

Airline Connect is opening up to Aviate Pro, starting with Delta.

You sign in on Delta's website, so Aviate never receives or stores your airline password. After a successful connection, Aviate is designed to show your SkyMiles identity, balance, status and qualifying values, upcoming trips, recent history, cabins, seats, and confirmation details. Eligible trips can then be automatically imported into the rest of Aviate instead of having to be entered again.

Airline Connect is included for all Pro users on Aviate 1.1.0. It no longer depends on the older account-by-account test flag.

The goal is simple: connect once, then let Aviate maintain the saved session before asking you to sign in again.

Delta is the only provider you can connect in 1.1.0, with Flying Blue coming this month.

Bring more of your history with you

The CSV importer now understands 2Flights exports. byAir imports also keep more of the record you chose, including the route, schedule, booking reference, seat, and cabin when those fields are present.

Pro users can import their complete flight history instead of hitting the old 2022 cutoff. The recent-history limit remains for free accounts.

Aviate will not turn an imported or manually entered record into a confident live claim when it cannot verify one. Those flights are marked STATUS UNVERIFIED, and missing operational details stay missing.

Preview your Passport before sharing it

Passport sharing now opens a real preview first. You can inspect the card, save it to your gallery, or send it through Android's share sheet.

The Passport map also gives frequently flown routes more weight. A route you have flown several times appears darker than a one-off route, without counting the return direction as a completely separate line.

Dates and times, cleaned up

There are several changes here, but they all come down to the same thing: the date shown should belong to that flight and that airport.

• International arrivals now handle same-day, next-day, two-day, and negative date changes correctly
• Each leg in Trip Details shows its own date
• Known scheduled layovers are kept when incomplete live timestamps would otherwise turn them into zero or negative time
• Notifications follow your 12 or 24-hour preference
• Distance and temperature units can be chosen independently

A lot of cleanup underneath

Large flight histories should open and refresh more reliably. Newer trips appear first, edits appear without restarting Aviate, Passport sharing no longer keeps an extra hidden map running, and repeated taps on the globe no longer make the Trips screen flicker.

Aviate 1.1.0 also corrects airline identifiers for several newer or renamed carriers, repairs bad airport coordinates, combines equivalent aircraft labels, prevents duplicate passenger passes from inflating Passport totals, and only sends a baggage-claim alert when a real belt or carousel is known.
